Cardio Tennis is first and foremost a fitness program. It is more about getting people moving and active…less on hitting great forehands and backhands. Cardio Tennis is a new, fun group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high energy workout. Taught by a teaching professional, Cardio Tennis includes a warm-up, cardio workout, and cool down phases. If you are looking for a great new way to get in shape and

The goals of this adult clinic are to perfect the mechanics of all strokes in respect to playing doubles matches. The clinic will be designed to introduce dynamic doubles strategies and to improve competitive skills. Some of objectives we will focus on are:

Cost: Members ($60) per session Non-members ($72) per session Beginner – No experience necessary. This class is designed for the novice tennis player. Emphasis will be on stroke mechanics – serve, forehand, backhand; as well as the rules of the game. Intermediate – This class is for the player with a basic understanding of the game. Emphasis will be on stroke refinement and competitive play. Advanced – This class is for the experienced player. Emphasis will
be on drills with technique coaching. Adult Stroke ClinicsMondays – 6:30 – 7:30 pm Cost: Members ($15) per class $72/6 classes Non-members ($17) per class $84/6 classes March 2, April 13 - The Slice Serve- learn to put spin on your serve. The slice serve will take your opponent off the court on a serve to the deuce court (for righties). This clinic will provide the instruction, drills and games to help your develop this valuable serve. March 9, April 20 - The Inside-Out Forehand- learn to hit your forehand where your opponent least expects it. The inside-out forehand will keep ‘em guessing. This clinic will provide the instruction, drills and games to help your develop this valuable stroke. March 16, April 27 - The Top Spin Serve- learn to hit a serve that your opponent will have to return from their shoulder. The topspin serve will add depth to your serve while providing plenty of net clearance. This is an excellent second serve you must have in your arsenal. March 23, May 4 - The Backhand Slice- learn to hit a backhand slice that will stay low and keep your opponent digging for returns. This shot is a “must-have” stroke for any developing player. You will be able to return backhands from shoulder height that will put you in an aggressive position to win the point. March 30, May 11 - The Offensive Lob- learn to hit the offensive lob and keep your opponent from rushing the net. This shot will add a “weapon” to your game that will have your opponent chasing deep high bouncing balls. You will not only learn how to hit this shot, we will give you the tools to practice and perfect it on your own. April 6, May 18 - The Drop Shot- learn to hit the drop shot and win more points from that baseliner
who never comes to the net. This shot will enable you to move your
opponent around on the court and set up winning points. You will learn
how to hit the drop shot and when to hit it. This stoke is essential
for any competitive player. |
